RE-BUILD BLACK
WALLSTREET
Community Grocery, is more than just a store — it’s the only Black-owned supermarket in South Carolina and a community-owned cooperative where customers don’t just shop — they become owners.
We believe that when the African American dollar stays in the African American company, communities grow stronger, healthier, and more self-reliant.
That’s why we’re launching a movement to reach 1 million people who can each give just $1 — to keep our store alive, expand our shelf space for Black-owned vendors, and fund the creation of “The Black Amazon”
— a national e-commerce platform made for us, by us.

We honor Ibrahime Touré of Burkina Faso, a visionary leader who took bold action to reclaim his country’s gold mines and natural resources for the benefit of his people — not foreign powers.
His message is clear and powerful: ownership is liberation. Just like our founder Timothy Waters, who built the
Community Grocery to give our people access, equity, and control over our own economy, Touré reminds us that real change begins when we take back what’s ours.
You don’t have to give a lot to make a difference.
Just $1 puts us one step closer to building the infrastructure Black businesses need to grow and thrive — both locally and online.
Every donation counts. Every share matters.
Together, we’re building a brighter future for Black-owned businesses and communities in South Carolina and beyond.
The average dollar stays in Black communities for just 6 hours, while it circulates for 17+ days in others. That means wealth leaves before it has a chance to grow.
8 out of 10 Black neighborhoods are classified as food deserts — where fresh, healthy food is miles out of reach.
Fewer than 3% of supermarkets in the U.S. are Black-owned, leaving little space for our voices, our products, or our power on the shelves.
These numbers should never be normal. But they can be rewritten — when we act. With just$1, you help flip the script and bring resources, food access, and ownership back where it belongs —in our communities.
Let’s change the math. Let’s change the future. One dollar at a time.
Over time, Weeksville's story was nearly lost — but now it's being reclaimed.
